Rockford Systems LLC’s Detect-A-Finger drop-probe device prevents welders and other small machines from cycling if it encounters fingers in the point-of-operation area. When an operator initiates a machine cycle, the sensing probe is released, ensuring that safeguarding cannot be deactivated or overlooked. If the probe detects more than the expected material thickness, it halts the machine from cycling. However, if no fingers are detected, the sensing probe drops into its preset position and the machine can cycle. The RKC-500 model is designed exclusively for welders. The design of its sensing probe module allows it to be attached to a welder’s arm, whether it is fixed or moving.
